The Best of Sapa 2D2N By Bus – Train
Itinerary: Hanoi – Sapa – Cat Cat Village – Sapa – Bac Ha Market (Sunday) – Ban Pho Village – Lao Cai Station – Hanoi
Day 1: Hanoi – Sapa – Cat Cat Village – Sapa (L, D)
07:00 – 07:30: Pick up at your hotel or at the meeting point and then departure to Sapa, following Noi Bai – Lao Cai High-way.
Along the way, you will have chance to contemplate the beauty of northwest mountains that terraced fields are sparkling in sunlight or dim in thick fog. Have a short break for 30 minutes then continue the trip to Sapa.
13:00: Arrive in Sapa, check in your hotel and have lunch.
14:30: A short trek to the gate of Cat Cat village, the village of Black H’mong hill tribe and located near the bottom of a deep valley at the foot of Fansipan Peak. Our local guide will show you the daily life activities of the locals, trek down to the valley bottom to the waterfall where the French built a Hydroelectric Power Station; stop for photo with bridge and waterfall then you will walk uphill for bus to pick up to get back to Sapa in the afternoon. Trekking distance is about 3.5 kms and it lasts for 2 hours
17:00: Come back to Sapa Town.
Evening: After dinner, you are free to explore the charm of Sapa by night, enjoy roasted corn, baked eggs beside charcoal fire or go shopping. Especially on Saturday night, we highly recommend a stop at the Love Market which is one of unique cultures of ethnic minorities H’mong, Dzao in Lao Cai in particular and North West of Vietnam in general.
Overnight at your hotel in Sapa.
Day 2 (Sunday): Sapa – Bac Ha Market – Ban Pho Village – Lao Cai Station – Hanoi (B, L, D)
07:30: Leave for Bac Ha Market after your breakfast. Bac Ha market is one of the largest markets in the Northwest region of Viet Nam and is only open on Sunday. It is situated about 110km from Sapa or about 2.5 hours away by bus and is worth every second of the ride. Every Sunday, the different and colorful ethnic minorities come all here to sell their homemade products or buy something for their family. They are H’mong, Phu La, Back Dzao, Tay or Nung minorities. Some of these ethnic minorities can’t be met in any other areas.
10:00: As soon as we arrive at Bac Ha, you will have free time for visiting one of the most colourfull market in the world. At the market, you have chance to enjoy Bac Ha people’s simple but unique kinds of food with special wines made from rice, cassavas, corn and different sorts of fruits such as plumps, apples, peaches… talking to the minorities through the guide’s interpretation.
After lunch, we leave the market for visiting the H’mong King’s house (King Hoang A Tuong) built by the French colonists and the Chinese in 1920, short walking to see Ban Pho village where is the homeland of flower H’mong.
14:30: Transfer to Lao Cai Station for an overnight train back to Hanoi. On the way back, stop to see the Vietnamese and Chinese Harbor Mouth in Lao Cai.
As soon as you arrive at Hanoi Station, we can arrange a van to pick you up and drop off at the hotel in Old Quarter.
